Terminator Setup in Ubuntu

I have found that terminator is one of the best terminal programs available for managing multiple terminals. I was tired of switching between contexts until I stumbled upon terminator. It makes it easy to spawn multiple terminal instances within a single window by creating another tab or by splitting the existing terminal.

Install:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gnome-terminator
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install terminator

Here is my example config. This will create a 4 window pane. Paste this inside of ~/.config/terminator/config. You may need to create the file if it isn’t there. Restart terminator to see the new setup. Be sure to replace jbauer with your username.
